Sayla Mass – one of my most favorite female anime characters when I was young. (for those who are not familiar with Sayla, she is one of the main characters in Gundam. More info can be found at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sayla_Mass) A couple of months ago I came across with this 1/6 Sayla action figure which has very nice uniform. However, the body shape and articulation is bad. I decided to enhance her and I found the result satisfactory.

I have to admit that I’m not very knowledgeable about this anime although I like it a lot. Please forgive me if I get any of the details wrong.

Headsculpt Repaint
Kisaragi Honey head is the closest stock part that I can find matching best with Sayla. To match her style, I painted her in an anime way and also gave her a bit of “sad” look. Hair style is not 100% alike but close.

Accessories
Boots: this is really my first attempt to doing sewing. I should have made them smaller to fit better. There is still a lot to learn.
Headset: mouth piece is from BBI apache pilot helmet, head phone is a gundam loose part, mounted on a HT SWAT comm set.

Weapon
Found this Gundam weapon kit with size matching quite well with 1/6 handgun. The only thing I did was to replace the handgrip with a BBI pistol’s.

Uniform is from this stock figure on the left. (The one on the right was the WIP)

There is a minor modification on the body to reduce the body length so the uniform fits better and also gives a body proportion matching better to an anime character. About 5mm is cut from the middle of waist. (on the left of picture)
